We enjoy gathering to share in fellowship, but even more, we want to make a positive impact in our local community. Hence, every penny collected from Oktoberfest is dedicated to serving and reaching out to those in need. In the spirit of our mission, this year’s proceeds will provide crucial support to St. Matthew’s Sharing with a Neighbor (SWAN) and our Red Wagon Food Pantry.
St. Matthew’s Sharing With A Neighbor (SWAN)
With rising costs and an unplanned expense such as a car repair or a hospital bill can put huge stress on tight family budgets. St. Matthew’s works with our neighbors to assist with rent and utility bills when monthly budgets don’t stretch quite far enough. Assistance can help to prevent eviction, homelessness, or cutoff to power and water. If financial need exceeds our ability to help, we work with individuals and families to find and apply for additional resources. As of June 2023, we have assisted 43 households with rent or utility expenses.
Red Wagon Food Pantry
Offers emergency supplemental, non-perishable food assistance to those in need in our community. As of June 2023 we have provided sustenance to 149 families.
